President and Founder Sylvia De Leon Alcala established J Anthony Group in 2009, combining her expertise in government contracting, regulatory compliance, business processes and supply chain operations to offer highly specialized consulting and professional services to clients in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
After years of witnessing dramatic changes in Aerospace and Defense companies’ budgets and employee talent base, she saw the need to provide businesses with options for retaining the experience and expertise they need at a lower cost. This desire to provide value to the industry drives J Anthony’s mission today.
During her 25 year career, Sylvia gained invaluable experience in business functions ranging from Finance, Contracts, Requirements Planning, Material Management, and Procurement and became highly skilled in developing solutions that accomplish operational goals and meet regulatory requirements. Respected for her technical knowledge and sound business judgment, clients and colleagues alike look to her for help in solving some of their toughest challenges.
Prior to founding J Anthony Group in 2009, Sylvia worked for major international consulting firms, directing large engagements and serving as a Subject Matter Expert to her clients. She served as the Director of Supply Chain Policy and Compliance for Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc. and prior to that held leadership positions with Jefferson Wells International and Lockheed Martin. Sylvia holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
As the Executive Vice President for J Anthony Group, Joe Alcala oversees company operations and leads J Anthony’s business development, sales management, and public relations activities. Joe collaborates with community business leaders and government officials, sets organizational objectives, and evaluates performance to ensure that we consistently exceed our customers’ expectations.
A passionate and trustworthy leader, Joe values customers as true business partners. His experience as a business owner and small business executive enhances our internal culture with a deep appreciation for creating customer value and loyalty. In his previous roles as a business development executive, Joe was responsible for overseeing business development operations and developing effective sales strategies.
Joe is a proud United States Air Force veteran. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Texas Christian University. Joe has been active with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the greater part of a decade, during which he served as a Big Brother and a Mentor. He served as the President of the Tarrant County Junior Board of Directors and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star.
In addition to his corporate role, Joe serves as President of The Heroes Race, a non-profit organization established by J Anthony Group to provide financial support for charitable organizations that provide resources for veterans and that promote good citizenship.
Bernadette Nanni serves as the Vice President of Business Operations for J Anthony Group. She brings an extensive Aerospace and Defense background in both Fixed Wing and Rotorcraft with a proven track record of driving results into the business.
Bernadette’s 32 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Earned Value Management, Contracts, Supply Chain, Material Management, and Corporate Finance brings great insight and value to Defense contractors both large and small. She is considered an expert in managing MIL STD 973 Engineering Change Proposals for the Government and is well respected across the industry for her extensive knowledge in Supply Chain and her leadership capabilities. Her breath and depth of experience brands her as uniquely positioned to effectively manage and function in highly integrated environments.
She has been a senior consultant for the Department of the NAVY, NAVAIR and some of Aerospace’s major OEMs and first tier suppliers across the country.
Prior to joining J Anthony in 2015, Bernadette was the Director of Integrated Supply Chain at BAE Systems. During her tenure with Textron she served as the Executive Director for Military Program Integration at Bell Helicopter and the Deputy Director of Business Operations at Bell Aerospace. She has also held leadership positions with LTV, Vought Aircraft and the Triumph Group. She remains active with National Contract Management Association (NCMA) having served as board secretary in the past.
Bernadette holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University. Prior to moving to Texas, she attended the University of Pittsburgh as an Economics and Mathematics major and was an undergraduate teaching and research assistant to Dr. Beverly K. Michaels in the Mathematics Department.
